I’m Brooke Marie
It’s lovely to meet you
I am a watercolour illustrator based in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. Welcome to my slice of internet pie. Please have a nosey around, it’s a place where you can purchase my art and collect some cosy paper goods. But, also it’s a place where I can share my creations, gather ideas, celebrate nature, gardening and those little cosy moments that keep my world spinning.
My Creations
All my work is created by hand using pencil, ink and watercolour.
I’m entirely self-taught and started watercolour by accident almost and so have been learning on the job since 2019. My style has evolved over the years as I've leant deeper into my rich inner world. My earlier work (and still some of my best selling designs) feature a pen and ink sketch with a watercolour infill, I now mainly only use watercolour. I love to paint on a thick cotton rag paper which lends my illustrations a rustic finish, it prevents me creating too much detail and adds a touch of whimsy to my work. If detail is required, my bird illustrations for example, I opt for a smoother paper and spend longer on the process.
I hope to create paper products that inspire an appreciation of our beautiful natural world or that invite a feeling of warm cosy nostalgia between friends. For I believe there really is nothing more to this life than good friends, long cold walks and pots of tea by the fire, and if you can find peace and joy in such simple things, you really will never be without it.
